It has been widely reported that the large angling and fishery members of FACT are attempting to unify into a single body to represent all anglers. The chairmen of NAFAC, ACA, NFA, S&TA and NFSA have been meetiing and tasking their executives to carry the process forward. Each body will need the agreement of its members to merge and thses agreements will be sought at this year`s AGM`s.
SAA has fully supported this process and has recently formally applied to join, now that the problem areas of joining five corporate bodies have been mostly resolved.
SAA has always wanted to see a unified structure for anglers, professionally run and able to compete with the best in the world of conservation and sport. Angling is closer now than ever before to achieving this and we hope that all anglers will join the new body to demonstrate to government the power that only a united front can provide.
Keep checking the SAA blog for the latest news on this initiative.
