Just wondering what everyone thinks of this idea After the eel "season" finishes,November ? how about collecting all the forum members eel catch information and showing results on the forum. Not in a "league table" style (could be very embarrassing for me), but a definitive guide to the success rate of rigs (on or off bottom) weather/moon influence, bait (type of worm/fish/other)Times of capture, rod hours per eel etc etc I think this would provide fascinating and helpful info to us all. What do you all think Regards Orbeel

I can only apologise fellow eelers, I forgot how genteel and well mannered we all are. How are you Nick ? long time no speak, I thought the swine flu (or Cannock gypos) had claimed another victim. Regards Orbeel.

Orbeel, All you have to do is go to edit on your post and alter your wording. No big deal really. Just trying to keep the forum clean for all to use. Please remember that people from all over the world read these forums. We have been emailed about the way that we conduct ourselves on the forum and apart from a few posts which have let us down. The emails have all said how well we are well behaved which when they have compared this forum to other forums. So please keep the slang/swear words from the posts With regard to a database I will check with my son and see what we can come up with. Thanks for the idea Orbeel.

Get real Kevin - have you been on the carp websites - if s**t is an offensive word either on websites or even in the english language(sorry you are Welsh) then I must live on anorther planet. It was bad enough with with rubbish involving Nick the pink - but come on lets get some perspective on this issue. If someone has a valid complaint for content or bad language as moderator you have to make a reasoned decision on the matter. If a complaint is all it takes - then I find the football bullshit offensive - can you remove or stop it please.I am not being pedantic but those that are complaining - why not state your complaint and your reasons - or if you which to remain anonymous - then via the admin team. Most of the chat is just banter in man world - is it a front bottom with no sense of humour that is complaining or a tosser with no life - LETS GET REAL BOYS,

Hi all just thought I would put my pennyworth in here re the use of swear words. Before anyone else says it I am the worst among you all as those who know me will say but if I am asked to cool it for ANY reason regardless of who asks I will, its called respect. Now this forum is different to any others around in a couple of ways. The main one is its an Eel forum and although I am not a regular visiter, this is the only one I will come on to. This is because I feel the others have degenerated into slanging matchs between people who probably have never even met in the real world. They seem to think it is OK to destroy other peoples reputations, be abusive, racist, sexist or any other sist. This forum has been kept clean of all this by Thomas and Kevin, even to the point of removing one of his own sons posts, what is good for one is good for everyone lads. The forum has I believe been beginer freindly with total novices asking simple questions and getting good advice and encoragment for there eel fishing, from ALL you lot so a big thanks for that.. Through the forum the NAC has gained an extra outlet for its members and gained a lot of new members who would probably never even considered joining because they were so called novices and intimidated by the so called specialist`s . So yes you may think that Kev is being over the top with his moderating but I would rather have a clean site with all the pretty clean humour we have had in the past from old and young, experianced and novices than to end up like those other forums. So lads if you do get upset about being moderated as Kev see`s fit, we all have that age old choice, switch off, change the channel, dont buy the newspaper or go on another forum. As I have said I am the worst and recently I start a dialog with Beng which involved loads and loads of "oo ar misses" inuendos which I can promise you if Kev or Thomas had said thats a bit to far I would have stopped and respected their views. Infact if Beng is reading this and I offended you then I am sorry. Its just that if we wanted all those web sites to look at we could have easely googled them our selves mate. Finally as you may have noticed I am also the worst speller and dare I say c--p at grammer so is there a way of putting spellcheck on the forum or have I yet again missed it somewhere as I am a total plonker with computers. Thanks again Thomas and Kev. Ps If anyone wants to abuse me re this post then do it like a man and ring me or drop round my house. The phone number and my address are on the NAC membership list

Spike, you make some good points. Respect is one of them, kev and thomas do us all a great service by providing this forum for us, and if kev or thomas asks us to change a word then that's fair enough and we should do it, or they should just use their power as mods and edit the post themselves. I do worry though that there are some overly sensitive folk out there, who are too quick to complain. I have seen some forums become overly moderated and they end up becoming totally sterile and dying a death! Mingle, don't think you can winge too much about the football stuff, as it's in the general chat section, you're the only one that's brought football up in the eel fishing section and that was to complain about all the footy stuff! I do however agree with some of your points. This forum is totally different to many of the carp ones as well as p&p forum, as we all seem to get on fairly well and are keen to help each other out as was highlighted by the advice you gave everyone about the cambridge fish-in.

I should add that I generally swear far more than is socially acceptable, to the point of sometimes having to pass it off as tourettes!! In the words of billy connolly, people say that swearing is a sign of a limited vocabulary. I disagree, as I know at least 120 words and I still prefer the word f%$k!!

I have no problem with football at all Ashy it is just good natured banter and just took that as an example. With regard to the forum I agree with everyones coments - I just feel that some people are either over sensative or more likely lack a sense of humour.
