Greetings Tanya....
no wonder your asking for advice then!
Do you have a particular water in mind? don't need to know which one it is but can you describe it in as much detail as possible. including the stock of carp.

alls u need to do is keep ur rigs simple, ie basic knotless knot, and ask as many of the local anglers for as much detail u can get about the venue, whats the going bait, good area's, what times are the best bite times, the more info u can gather the easier the jigzaw that is fishing, will be to put together, that goes for any fish u are trying to catch, local knowledge is key, of course experiment after a while, so u get to know the water for urself, i doubt there are many ppl on this forum who wouldn't dream of fishing a venue without finding out some details about it, unless it was a virgin water of course, but then there is bound to be info for that to

Swampy, if you do the same as the locals you tend to catch the same as the locals. theres a load of crap written and posted about carp and baits etc. observation is key, as are feeding areas.
simple example being a water I fished a few years ago all the regulars where fishing surface baits on a beach caster, or 20mm baits over a big bed of baits.
I turned up and watched carp cruising about just under the surface, out goes a zig rig and an hour later a mid double comes to the net, not the biggest of fish but out of thirty odd anglers on the water that day no one else caught.

Agree with Smithy. Lokk at what the regulars are doing and do the opposite. Works every time.
