Id like to take the opportunity to congratulate my father on catching his first carp!
its only taken him 48 years to achieve this long standing ambition!
Well done old bloke on your 3 and a half pound common!
Ill be sending him a card to mark this momentus occasion.
and will be sure to take the p..... at every opportunity. _________________ Dave Smith

They're easy to catch.... can't understand why it's took him 48 years to catch one! _________________ Dave Smith

Well done to your father Dave.
I don`t think he was fishing Redmire Nick, I caught carp there when I fished there by using sidehooked sweetcorn with a running leger.
There are harder waters to fish where he could have struggled to catch his first carp.

Just the local canal.
Just need to get him on a barbel now, problem is he's in very poor health and can't cope with uneven banks or very long sessions. _________________ Dave Smith

No Kevin, well not carp he's had a few tench etc.
I'm going to try to take him to a commercial in the next few weeks, hopefully he'll see just how easy small carp are to catch! _________________ Dave Smith
