I agree with Nick's comments, and I think that Kevin is correct in seeking to maintain a "clean" site. I use many other forums, and some are moderated more effectively than others. The sites that are not moderated effectively often descend into backbiting and offensive bickering, and achieve little in the way of helping or entertaining others. I agree with Ricky Gervais (when discussing Derek and Clive) that swearing is clever, and it is funny, but only when the context is right. As we cannot control who reads the posts on this forum, and any age group has access, then I think that common sense dictates that the language used on here requires moderation at times. As for Mark's comments regarding s**t as an offensive word in either English or Welsh, well of course it is! That's why it is a swear word, and a very good one at that! Those of you that have fished with me will know that I never swear, drink or take drugs. I do, however, lie.

to all the people who post on here, one of the pleasures of being on this site is the little amount of backbiting and backstabbing you see on other sites , we can all name them . as to the use of bad language it can sometimes be quite funny ,or can make a point if used in the right context , i for one quite enjoy the use of a profanity now and again but have no problems not using them on this site mind you it can be quite a challenge putting your point across without it somedays !!!!!!!!!

Hi, not posted much, but allways enjoy reading site and not have people backstabbing and swearing . not even done much fishing ,and yes i do swear i'm a builder,also think stats would be interesting.
