For courtesy's sake it would be good for Nick to know why his post was deleted, and this knowledge would make it possible for him, and the rest of us, to avoid a repeat occurence.

The post was removed because it contained words that I have had received complaints as offensive words. I just applied the same action as I had done with other posts.

If anyone wishes a more personel explanation. I will do so by email.

Thank you.

Sorry I didn't see the post, it's always dificult to understand what one person deams acceptable and another does not. maybe the eelfishing team would like to enlighten us?

S**t can not possibly be one of the offending words as our astute team of moderators would have picked up on the three other posts, that contain the word "s**t".

Apologies if my use of the word "s**t" offends anyone, I use it only in an explanetory sense.

Dave. I did not make the complaint, I only applied the neccessary by removing the offending post.

I try to keep everyone happy however, since you have mentioned another possible posts. Maybe you be so kind and email the posts that you are referring to. I can then apply the neccessary action.

Perhaps you could alter your wording so it does not contain an offensive word which some person/s has already took the trouble and time to email and complain about.

Kevin, with respect it's not my place to comment on the forum admin teams moderating.

I understand that some people take exception to certain words, I'm just confused, and evidently others share my confusion that the goal posts appear to move to suit. I was very offended by the Michael Jackson posts that appeared after Mr. Jackson's unfortunate demise. I have been a Jackson fan for as long as I can remember, and was devastated by the loss of his talent. To then read such shocking remarks on an Eel fishing forum of all places was a little too much to bear. I half expected to see Mr. Swayze's demise ridiculed but thankfully that hasn't happened (at least not yet). Dirty Dancing is one of my favourite films of all time, indeed I will be watching it again with my good lady tonight, which no doubt will result in the shedding of a tear or two as we reminisce over the loss of such a great acting talent.

Maybe a do's and don'ts post by the admin team would be beneficial to all users?

It's certainly something that I'll be exploring when the NAC website is refreshed during the winter and the official NAC forum is (hopefully) launched.

My Wife Pat is huge fan of Patrick Swayze and her fav film is Dirty Dancing. My fav is Ghost.
The Michael Jackson post did go to far and the post was removed. (Well Just tried to find it with search but I could not find it.)

Again all I have done is respond to a complaint which I have acted on, the same as with another post. I have not moved the goalposts. I will not treat Nick Duffy differently from another post where Nick Duffy can put words on the forum and another cannot.

Good news that the NAC is to have thier own forum. Another means where they can spread the good word of eels and eelfishing.

I know you and I have not always seem Eye to Eye Nick on bite detection, but I have to agree with you on Point Break. This film has changed my life on many levels. I see Swayze's character Bodhi, as a role model for my way of life- he was a thrill seeking surfing legend who robbed banks and lived life on the edge. A ringer for me really- apart from the thrill seeking. And the surfing. And the bank robbing. And the endless beach parties. But apart from that it's identical!
Also I based my life on Swayze's character Dalton in Road House, as I have worked the doors too. How many doors? All the doors!
Glad to hear everyone is catching in Cambridge. Wish I could have been there too but I'm spinning plates here and a couple are wobbling as we speak. And tomorrow I'm busy doing a bank job then parachuting in to a beach party, with my surf board.
Live the dream!
:D
