Went out down the quarry yesterday for the last day of winter! The sun was beating down and luckily, there was no-one else there.A whole shoal of carp were lazing about in the sun with their backs out of the water.I cast out a small piece of begel bread with the line just catching the end of an overhanging twig to keep the line out of the water.Moments later,I could see the line moving(the sun was too bright to see the bait).I struck into a lively fish;but it was all over in 5 minutes-a mint perfect golden common of 14 1/2 pounds!
Moving further round the pond,I put out another crust and after a few frustrating close encountres, I hooked another one.He nearly got mr into some tree roots, but in the end, he was on the bank-another magnificent common of 18 pounds!
Cheers,Kammo.

It's one of the pirks of getting up at 5am every weekday. The water in the lake has not really warmed up very well for the past two years with the weather and half of it is in permanent shade.I think the carp like the sun as much as we do!
