Yeah, nice one steve. Shame about the biggun though. I love this time of year for the perch. Had my pb Perch at the start of november. 4lb 8oz from the Grand Union near uxbridge on a shakespeare Big S. Taken lots of 3's at this time of year too.

You're right gents. It was an absolute clonker of a fish! It was a really good stretch for perch, there were if I remember rightly, about five 4lb+ fish off that section in 1997. It remains, in my opinion, my best capture. Sadly, even though I took some pics of it, I dropped my camera in the cut about 2 weeks later. If it wasn't bad enough losing pics of that fish, I also had pics on that film of a 13lb 2oz Bream from a Cheshire mere!!

Never fished black park lake myself steve, but used to walk round it with the missus. There are some lovely waters round there. I was in the RAF, and was based at Uxbridge for just over 7 years so fished lots of waters around there.

One bait that I have found very good for perch is Prawn.

Any chance of a pic of your big perch Ashy and Rikrod?

Best Perch I ever had was on dead bait fishing for eels on a pond in Kent, had a couple of 3 pounders of which the biggest was 3lb 9oz and a load over 2lb all in the same session!.. they were going bonkers, I later went back to fish solely for the Perch and caught one about a pound and a bit!

Ashy, that 4.8 perch is a fish of a lifetime no question!

Steve, unlucky with the lost pb!

Chris, I'll definately be up for a Scottish fish in!

Bushman.
