Sorry Particle we all seemed to have missed the point of your posting welcome to the world of eel fishing. The information you require will vary from one angler to another the best advice i can give is read the articles on this site and the the NAC site this should cover most of your questions. Sounds like the water your fishing could have potential but dont be surprised if it turns out to be hard work Big Eels are in a different league to Carp but at least youve have crossed over from the darkside.
Good luck with your Eeling :)

Welcome to the forum Particle. May I say that you should do what Devoneels has recommended and look at the main website of eelfishing.co.uk and the read the excellant articles by the Burgular.
The NAC is another good website for you to look at.

Take some time to read all the posts. There are lots of tips here for you to try. I wsih you luck with your quest to catch an eel this season.
Keep us informed.

PS> There is no need to wear pink here
