Thanks chaps. Water temperaturs still 55f here, so I will be at it for a few more weeks yet. As for texting you about small fish Duffy, we are just letting you know that there are still specimen eels out there to be caught, in the hope that you might go out and catch some, instead of going on about some old 7 from a canal full of bikes and supermarket trolleys  By the way, Steve, I had another 5 on the following night. I asked Steve Pitts if he thought I should move swims after the first nights' success, and he said no, and he was right. The last of the three fish was the result of a few tiny bites that seemed like perch worrying the worms. I picked up the rod and closed the bale arm and moved the bait an inch, and felt a tiny pluck, moved the bait again, and struck at the next pluck. Firmly hooked in the scissors. It's the third fish I've had like this this season. I am convinced that we pay too little attention to what we think are small fish worrying the bait.

Well done Mark i am sure we all miss eels like you said assuming they are small fish i know i am probably guilty of this. As for poor old Nick being disturbed for small fish i am sure as fantastic as these fish are neither you or steve stripped to your undies in order to show them off, i think Nick is our very own Uncle Albert harping on about times gone by and prehaps should change his Login to Nicksuper7yearsago!

Afternoon Orbeel

Thanks-I have asked Kevin to post a pic of the 5.15 for me when he gets a chance, as I can never seem to succeed in posting pics on here. I regret that I did not have time to erect the barbed wire fence for this picture :)

Huge congrats on your 5:15 Eel. A great capture at any time of the year, but to catch this fish in the Autumn puts the icing on the cake. Well done.

Steve is also very welcome to post his fish on the forum. :)

My thanks for your good wishes for Pat Mark. Pat is still feeling very poorly. :(
